Welcome to my 11th edition of BLOG -

My apologies ladies for the lateness in this edition. With so many things happening in the last month I ran out of time.

The Womens Golf NSW Summer Meeting is all but over - only the fun event to go. Unfortunately the large contingent from Wakehurst Club in Sydney took the majority of the prizes. Jocelyn McKay from Moss Vale was the winner of the trophy event and we congratulate her on some fine golf. Our green staff did a fantastic job presenting our course to the rest of the world - Thank you Damian & Co.

Thank you to all the ladies who acted as runners, spotters and general dogs bodies, without your assistance the event would not have run as smoothly as it did. The ladies from WGNSW were very impressed with our assistance and the lengths to which one volunteer went to assist the players.

The Bronze Shield Pennant Team has been chosen - Noela McMurray, Joan Polglase, Barbara Westwood, Judy Windybank and Carol Turpie are heading to Canberra on Friday 12th March to play against the Royal Military College at Queanbeyan - Good luck ladies, wear your pink shirts with pride.

As reported last edition, a team of 12 ladies were heading to Royal Canberra for the CSGA opening Day. We returned with 7 prizes - not bad from 12 ladies.

The following ladies have qualified for the Jubilee Foursomes Knock Out and now go into match play. Remember all matches to be played from the red plates. The conditions of play are displayed in the locker room.

Qualifiers were: Pam Barker / Barbara Westwood, Sizie Crawford / Jenny Ogg, Judy Windybank / Joan Polglase, Helen Chadwick / Wendy pope, Margaret Dawkins / Sally Knackstedt, Maggie McKenzie / Jan Lane, Jan Southon / Donelle Foate and Leonie Carroll / Wendy Burke.

Open day events from other clubs are being received each week. Look in the folder for some exciting events for you and your friends to play in.  Playing away from your home course can hone your skills and build confidence in your game.

The Bowral Golf Club Newsletter will be published soon. If I have missed any event to report on you may find it in the Newsletter.

The Information Meeting has been and gone. I trust all who attended gained some knowledge of what the Board are trying to achieve for your club.

Events - 18th March - Invitation Day. This is your chance to invite a friend to play your course. It is usual for the member to pay the expenses of their visitor. To book your spot log onto the booking sheet on your computer or see Tony in the Pro shop for assistance in putting your visitors name on the sheet. Please have a Golflink number to assist Tony and your committee.

30th March - Bowral / Goulburn Shield - We still need players to travel to Goulburn. This is a handicapped match play event, played in 3 divisions. See the booking sheet in the locker room.

As the Autumn leaves fall around us and the nights grow cooler - enjoy the Highlands at their best with chilly mornings and balmy days.
