Tuesday Golf

It was good to see so many players today - are you brushing up your golf skills, or simply trying to get rid of the “Christmas lifestyle”?  It was good to see Barbara Westwood in the winning circle again!

Opening Day - Thursday 5th February

We have decided to change the format for this day - instead of the programmed event, we will now have a 3 person Irish Stableford - BUT with one major change.  You will only be allowed to use 3 clubs (of your choice) and a putter.  A draw will be done prior to the day - it will be a 16 hole shotgun start.  A nomination form will be available in the locker room within the next week.

Visitors Day

Apologies - an error in the fixtures book shows two dates for this event - the actual day for our Invitation Day is the 19th March - please amend your book.  The event on the 26th February will now be a 2BBB Stableford event.

Summer Meeting

Nomination forms for this event are now available in the Locker Room.  This event is held on the 2nd to 5th March and is open to all players with a handicap.  Our course will be used on Wednesday and Thursday for foursomes and teams events.  This is an ideal opportunity for newer golfers in particular to experience the fun of playing in a tournament.  Nominations close on the 30th January, so this is one to look out for.

Christmas/New Year Golf

An 18 hole ball competition will be held every Tuesday and Thursday - cost $7.50.  If you wish to play 13 holes please do so, but you still nominate via the computer or touch screen - only proviso is to make sure that your partners on the day are also playing just 13 holes.  The cost for the 13 holes competition is $5.50.

Friday Competition

Just a reminder that this occurs every Friday - you may play at any time during the day and hand in your card to the pro shop - Tony will organise balls for the winners.  Cost is $3.00.  Phone a friend and just turn up!!

Friday Competition 2008/09

 In addition to the above, Pam and Don Barker have organised a Friday Daylight Savings 12 Hole Competition commencing Friday 7th November and ending Friday 27th March 2009.  The cost of participation for event is $20, plus weekly cost of $3.  A BBQ will be held following the competition starting at 6 pm - even if you don’t play, you are welcome to come for the meal!  Further details available in the club.  Although this competition is not handicapped, any score over 25 will be result in a drop in handicap.

Starting on the 10th Hole

Due to the increasing size of our field on Thursdays we encourage our players to consider hitting off on the 10th hole.  This is particularly applicable during the hot weather where a late start means playing through the heat of the day.
