HOLE 15 CHANGES. 

During the dam reconstruction the men’s and ladies 15th tees have been taken out of play and a temporary tee is in place in front of the dam and in front of the men’s 14th tee from Tuesday the 12th August. It is approximately 100 metres from the centre of the 15th green. It is expected to be in play for about 1 month depending on weather. The men’s par has been reduced to a par 3 with a course par of 68. The men’s index remains the same. 

Seeding and grassing has taken place and we expect to return to normal tees in about one month.

Please allow players to exit 14th green and return to at least previous 15th hole ladies tee before playing up. Do not hit up if players are in front of you.

The course is currently in excellent condition, do not miss out in playing on this course

SCORECARDS

 After entering your scores on the touch screens please remember to place them in the scorecard box or give them to the scorers. We need to check the cards. If the card is not available then a NCR will be shown and you could miss out on a voucher or a golf ball.

 PATIENCE.

I would ask all members to be patient when paying their competition fees at the pro shop. With our new computerisation Tony is required to enter all of the information into the system and this can take a little time when there are a number of players present at the one time.

Seeding and grassing has commenced and we expect normal tee play to commence in aboutmone month

 STARTING TIMES

From the 29th October we will revert to booking times between 8.00am and 10.30am and 12md to 1.30pm. You are still able to book prior to 8.00am and between 10.30am and 12.md but you need to do it through the Professional Shop, you cannot do it online. The competition closes at 1.30pm. We will monitor these times.

Legacy Day

This annual event will be held on Saturday 22nd November.  All ladies are welcome to play in this event - it is a very enjoyable day.

Berrima District “Champion of Champions”

The playoff for the district champion will be held at our course on Thursday 20th November.  The club representatives will hit off before our day’s competition. 

Our club will be represented by our Champion Maggie McKenzie and Division 2 Champion Jill Scott.

Christmas Closing Day - Thursday 27th November

The competition for the day will be a 3 person Irish.  An entry form is in the locker room - would you please enter in your division.  The draw will be done this week and each group will consist of a player from each division (if possible).  Please check the locker room for your starting hole.

We encourage those of you who wish to enter the Christmas “spirit” to wear red or green on the day (collarless Christmas shirts will be acceptable)

Lunch will be provided on the day and paid for by the committee - the entertainment is free as well!.

Please organise to have your donated trophies at the Club by Tuesday 25th November if possible.

Christmas Entertainment

As many of you will know by now, the “Bowral Players” are currently rehearsing their choreography for their rendition of “Mama Mia” to be presented at the Combined Christmas Cheer at Moss Vale on the 25th November, and also at our Closing Day on the 27th November.  This could well be the highlight of your year, so put it in your diary!

13 Hole Competition -  Thursdays

Due to problems being experienced with the computer for this event, a time sheet will be placed in the locker room for entrance into this event.  Starting time will be from 10.30 am.  Please phone me if you are having difficulties in regard to this event.

Friday Golf

Just a reminder that this occurs every Friday - you may play at any time during the day and hand in your card to the pro shop - Tony will organise balls for the winners.  Cost is $3.00.  Phone a friend and just turn up!!

Friday Competition 2008/09

 In addition to the above, Pam and Don Barker have organised a Friday Daylight Savings 12 Hole Competition commencing Friday 7th November and ending Friday 27th March 2009.  The cost of participation for event is $20, plus weekly cost of $3.  A BBQ will be held following the competition starting at 6 pm - even if you don’t play, you are welcome to come for the meal!  Further details available in the club.

Starting on the 10th Hole

Due to the increasing size of our field on Thursdays we encourage our players to consider hitting off on the 10th hole.  This is particularly applicable during the hot weather where a late start means playing through the heat of the day.

You can hit a two acre fairway 10% of the time and a two inch branch 90% of the time!!
