GENERAL INFORMATION
INTRODUCTIONBowral Golf Club LTD was founded in 1901 and moved to the current location in 1917. The Club’s property of 37 hectares comprises golf course, clubhouse and other buildings and is owned freehold by the Club.
The Club is a licensed club and is regulated under the Licensed Club Act of NSW 1976, The Corporations Act 2001 and several other State and Federal Acts. The Club belongs to the industry body, Clubs NSW.
The Club’s Board is composed of up to 7 members who are elected annually, for a one year term. The President is Chairman of the Board. Members of the Board are required to undertake mandatory training provided by Clubs NSW with respect to their duties and responsibilities where required by the legislation.
Under the Corporations Act, the Club is required to provide annual accounts and the Licensed Clubs Act also requires the production of interim accounts for each quarter. The Club’s Auditor is Hassos and Associates of Bowral.
CLUB HOURS - OFFICEThe Office is open Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00 pm. Times may vary depending on the needs of the Club and its members. If the office is unattended please see staff at the bar.
CLUB HOURS - CLUBHOUSEThe Clubhouse is open Monday to Friday 10:30 am to 7:00 pm; Saturday 10:30 am to 7pm and Sunday 10:30 am to 4pm. Times may vary depending on booked functions and special events that may occur from time to time.
Extended hours may be arranged with the Secretary Manager. The Clubhouse is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday. It is also closed until 12 noon on Anzac Day. The Secretary Manager or Board may close the Clubhouse on other public holidays as deemed necessary.
CLUB HOURS - LOCKER ROOM Access to the locker rooms is available from 7:30 am daily except by pre-arrangement with the Club Manager or when otherwise advised.
Locker Rooms will not be available on Christmas Day and at other times that may be deemed necessary as nominated by the Club Manager or Board.
CLUB HOURS - PRO SHOP The Pro Shop is open Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm (close 5:00 pm in winter). On Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays 7:00 am to 6:00 pm (closed 5:00 pm in winter). It is closed Christmas Day and until 12 noon on Anzac Day.
DRESSMembers and visitors should at all times maintain a standard of dress commensurate with the dignity of the Club. On competition day’s members should wear acceptable golfing attire. Blue denim jeans during Club Competitions is unacceptable attire on the course. At all times members and non-members must dress appropriately. A neat casual dress code applies to all people using the Clubhouse & Course.
Unacceptable attire in the Clubhouse or on the Course: Shirts without a collar, Sleeveless/singlet tops, Work wear Beach apparel, Gym clothing, Shoes with heavy treads or thongs, damaged or dirty clothing.
Bowral Golf Club has a soft spike policy. Golf shoes may be worn in the Clubhouse provided they are clean and free of mud and grass.
Dress standards for dinners or dining-in nights are detailed on the Club’s noticeboard for each event. It is the responsibility of Members to inform their guests and visitors of these requirements.
The interpretation and enforcement of acceptable dress is at the discretion of the Secretary Manager or his/her representatives including all Clubhouse staff, Pro-shop staff and Board members of the Club.
COMPLAINTSAny complaints should be made in writing to the Secretary Manager who will take the appropriate action or refer it to the appropriate Board Member or Committee.
A Member shall not, at any time, reprimand any employee of the Club.
CATERING AND FUNCTIONSMeals: A sandwich bar is available from Monday – Tuesday. The Club provides a luncheon service in the Clubhouse from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm Wednesday to Saturdays.
GRATUITIES A Staff Christmas Fund has been established that members may give gratuities for staff, it is distributed appropriately to all staff of the Golf Club annually. No gratuity or money may be given directly to any employee.
MEMBERSHIPAll enquiries should be directed to the Club Manager. Membership is for a year. The membership year starts in July. However it is possible to join part-way through a year and the subscription fee adjusted accordingly.
Membership entitles the members to use the facilities of the club such that their category of membership allows. The club's policy is that membership may not be suspended for a period where a member will not use the club's facilities. Payment options are available. Please see the MEMBERSHIP CHAPTER in this document.
MOBILE PHONES In the Clubhouse Mobiles in the clubhouse must be set to ‘Silent’. For phone calls please excuse yourself from the clubhouse.
VISITORS Visitors are welcome to visit the club both socially and for a golfing event. Visitors residing within 5 kilometres of the club may be signed in by a full member on 3 occasions only. Visitors attending a club approved function are not required to sign in.

GOLF ETIQUETTEMembers are reminded of their responsibilities as outlined in Section 1 of The Rules of Golf. Copies of the Rules are available from the Secretary Manager. If you wish to play through a slow group, please be courteous when making the request.
GOLFING VISITORS - OTHER REGISTERED GOLF CLUB MEMBERSPlaying members of other registered golf clubs (with current Australian handicap) are welcome to play in competitions for payment of normal green fees plus the nominated competition fee. Visitors are not eligible to win Club Trophies or Medals or to compete in the Club Championships.
GOLFING VISITORS -VIRTUAL CLUBS Players who hold a membership to Virtual golf clubs, Golf websites or to clubs that offer distance memberships in order to obtain a golflink number are not permitted to enter club competitions. Examples of non-complying clubs are: Qantas Golf Club, Howlong GC, Tully Park GC, The Ridge GC, Belowthepin and Futuregolf. Players should check their eligibility before entering our competitions to avoid disappointment. The Captain may make a discretionary call for special events.
GOLFING VISITORS - LOCAL GOLF CLUBS - REDUCED GREEN FEES Moss Vale Golf Club, Highlands Golf Club, Gibraltar Country Club and Mount Broughton Members are welcome to play at Bowral Golf Club. A reduced green fee is payable plus the nominated competition fee will apply. These local Club members are not eligible to win Club Trophies or Medals, or to compete in the Club Championships.
As a member of Bowral Golf Club arrangements have been made with these local golf clubs to play on their Course at a reduced rate.
HANDICAPSThe Club will maintain Australian handicaps for Members (where Bowral Golf Club has been nominated as the Members Home Club if the Member is a member of more than one club) and current Australian handicaps for all Members are available on the Club House computers.
All competitions will be played on Australian handicap and the Monthly Medal will be played in three grades. Monthly Medal events: Div. A – Handicap 0-15; Div. B – Handicap 16-25; Div. C – Handicap 26 -36. Information about handicaps to be used in various competitions is available on the Club House computers. A full description of the Australian handicapping system appears in the Australian Golfers Handbook or at:-

MEMBER’S GUESTSOn any competition day, playing members may invite visitors at the payment of the member guest green fee plus competition fee. This privilege does not extend to six-day playing members on Saturday competition days. Six-day members may play on Saturdays by paying the full green fee plus competition fee but are not eligible to win Trophy or medal events.
Members’ guests are not eligible to win Trophy or medal events. A Member may invite the same guest no more than 3 times in any one year.
Member’s guests may only play socially or a maximum of three occasions before he or she will be invited to become a member of the Club.
Social members and golfing members are not allowed to be another member’s guest and must pay the full visitor green fee plus applicable competition fees.
Members may invite a maximum of three guests to play socially paying a green fee. The same guest may only play socially a maximum of three occasions before he or she will be invited to become a member of the Club.
There are separate Eagle’s Nest competitions on Saturdays and Wednesdays, which are open to Members Only.

MOTORISED CARTS, BUGGIES OR MOTOR BIKESMembers and Visitors are requested to comply with The following rules when using carts on the Course. All cart users are liable for any damage caused.
PRACTICE The Club has a practice putting green adjacent to the clubhouse terrace. There is a practice area and chipping green between the 1st Tee & the 18th green. Members may also hire range balls from the pro shop. Members may also play practice strokes to an adjacent fairway in the direction of play from any area of rough on the Course PROVIDED that players on the Course are not inconvenienced. Practice from/on fairways is not permitted. Sand Buckets must be carried at all times when practicing and divots repaired. When using the practice area between the first and eighteenth fairways on competition days, practice balls must be collected prior to competitors playing those holes. Members may play a practice round on the Course but no more than TWO BALLS are to be used.
Members are reminded that they must carry their membership cards as the course is patrolled by staff. When the course is closed no practice of any type is not permitted with the exception that the chipping area may be used.
The Pro Shop uses the first fairway for lessons and its availability for practice should be confirmed with the Pro Shop. Under no circumstances are greens other than the practice green to be used for practice. Members should note that any breaches of the above will be referred to the committee and may result in playing rights being suspended. The protection of the Course is paramount.
SAFETY ON THE COURSEGreens staff always have “RIGHT OF WAY”
All players are reminded that if the flagstick has been removed from the hole on a green, then that hole is out of play. (This is a rule of golf)
Likewise, if members of the green staff are working on the fairways or greens and are in danger of being hit by golf balls, players are required to wait until the green staff indicate that it is safe to continue play.
This directive applies to both competition and social play.
SLOW PLAY - EXPECTED CONDUCT(Contact the pro-shop) Bowral Golf Club encourages “Ready Golf” however, safety of playing members is paramount. Members must be diligent in avoiding slow play and the low marker in your group is responsible for maintaining an acceptable pace of play. Your group must keep up with the group ahead. If your group is more than one hole behind the group ahead, allow the group behind to play through. Players searching for a “lost” ball should signal the group behind them to play through, as soon as possible. In Par and Stableford events players must pick up when unable to score at least a half or a point.
Members are reminded of the correct procedure addressing issues by other players as visitors conduct on the course that is not in accordance with expectations or policy. In both instances please contact the pro-shop who will attend to the matter rather than instruct appropriate behavior directly. The pro-shop has been trained in the correct approach to these matters.
WEATHER - LIGHTNING RISK WARNINGAt any time when there is storm activity nearby there is a significant risk of being struck by lightning. Due to the unpredictability of lightning strikes it is not possible to determine when players are at risk. The Club will not be liable for death or injury by lightning by attempting to forecast it. Players should seek shelter inside an enclosed building without delay if there is a risk. As a general advice places and things to avoid include:-
· small structures or sheds
· open fields
· in close proximity to the tallest localised structure such as surveillance tower, tree, light pole, antenna)
· umbrellas
· swimming pools, lakes, dams or water generally
Persons should also refrain from holding or contacting metal objects or using devices connected to electrical or phone lines.
Likewise, storms can exacerbate the possibility of falling objects such as tree limbs. Bowral Golf Club has adopted a policy common to many golf clubs in that it is the responsibility of each player to check weather forecasts before playing at Bowral Golf Club.

The Club maintains a website www.bowralgolfclub.com.au which provides facilities to book games, communicate with the membership, and to provide information to intending members and guests.
MEMBERSHIP AND PLAYING RIGHTSMembers should remember that on non-competition days they have no playing right of way over social players.
Handicaps are maintained for FULL PLAYING MEMBERS, LIFESTYLE, COUNTRY MEMBERS, JUNIOR/STUDENT MEMBERS & SUB- JUNIOR MEMBERS.
Handicaps are not maintained for non-golfing members such as House or Social members.
FULL PLAYING MEMBERSAll Full Playing Members have the right to play on the Course on any day of the week. The Men’s competitions are normally played on Saturdays and Wednesdays. A Ladies competition for Full Playing Members is held in conjunction with the Saturday Members competition. The Women’s competitions are normally played on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Medley competitions are usually played on Sundays or public holidays. Please refer to the golfing section of this program. Members in competition have the right of the Course.
LIFESTYLE MEMBERSLifestyle Memberships “23 to 50 years of age” This category carries 7-day playing access, all daily competitions including monthly medal rounds and the Lifestyle Championship, but are not eligible to win Club Trophies, compete in the Club Championships or interclub teams. There are also no voting rights in this category. Members in this category reaching 51 years of age may remain in this category indefinitely under the same playing rights. Should a member (over 51) move from this category then they can not re-join it. Members in this category may at any time move to the full playing category with a gradual increase in fees over a 3 year period (1/3 of the difference to be added each year to bring fees inline).
COUNTRY MEMBERSHave the same playing rights and privileges as Full Members but are not eligible to win Club Trophies or to compete in the Club Championships.
JUNIOR / STUDENT MEMBERSHIPJunior Playing members are persons who have attained the age of 18 years and are under the age of 23 years who are elected as Junior Playing members of the Club.
SUB-JUNIOR MEMBERSHIPSub-Junior Playing members are persons under the age of 18 who are elected as Sub- Junior Playing members of the Club.
HOUSE MEMBERSHouse Members shall be persons who have attained the age of 18 years and are elected as House members of the Club or transferred by the Board from another category of Ordinary membership to House membership of the Club.
No person who is not already a member of the Club shall be eligible to be elected to House membership of the Club and the only members who can be transferred to House membership of the Club shall be persons who, having been Full Playing members, Six Day Playing Members or Visiting members for at least twelve (12) months, have applied for and have been transferred by the Board to House membership of the Club.
A House member is entitled to the social privileges of the Club and, at such times and upon such conditions and restrictions as the Board from time to time determines may play croquet, bridge or any other social game available. No playing rights are attached to this category. House Members shall be entitled to attend and vote at general meetings of the Club, including Annual General Meetings, and shall be entitled to vote in the election of the Board.
SOCIAL MEMBERSSocial members shall be persons who have attained the age of eighteen (18) years and are elected to Social membership of the Club or are transferred by the Board from another category of Ordinary membership to Social membership of the Club. A Social member is entitled to the social privileges of the Club and, at such times and upon such conditions and restrictions as the Board from time to time determines may play croquet, bridge or any other social game available in the Club, but shall not be entitled to use the golf course to play golf except by paying the appropriate green fee for use of the golf course. (Subject to the limitations of the articles in which regular play may result in a request of the Member to upgrade to a playing member)
Social members shall not be entitled to attend or vote at general meetings of the Club, or at Annual General Meetings, or vote in the election of the Board.
RECIPROCAL CLUBSThe following clubs have reciprocal rights with Bowral Golf Club and Bowral Golf has reciprocal rights with them such that members of both Clubs enjoy benefits of the facilities of each Club.Contact the Secretary Manager for details.

STARTING TIMESStarting times are available on the ClubHouse computers or by contacting the Pro Shop. Members wishing to arrange playing times on the day of the competition may contact the Pro Shop. Members may play prior to competition starting times provided the Pro Shop is consulted regarding such bookings. The Pro Shop is responsible for all tee times. For match play events, please book a tee time as normal.
It is courteous for Members cancelling from a booked time to notify the other players of the group.
PUBLIC HOLIDAYSThe Clubhouse is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday. The Clubhouse is also closed until 12 noon on Anzac Day and no competition, social play or practice is to take place prior to that time. From time to time the Secretary Manager or Board may close the Clubhouse on other days as deemed necessary.
MEMBER INSURANCELimited insurance cover for loss of golfing equipment is provided for Playing Members under the Club’s insurance policy. An excess amount applies to any claim payable by the member. Details may be obtained from the Secretary Manager.

DUPLICATE BRIDGEOpen to all Members. Held on the fourth Wednesday of each month – January to November. Starting at 10:30 am for 11:00 am. Convener is Gloria Campbell (4862 2017)
LADIES BRIDGEThe regular ladies’ bridge day at the Clubhouse is the first Tuesday in each month – February to December (unless otherwise advised), commencing at 10.30am.

- Functions: The Club runs various dinners and functions. Bookings are required in advance for all functions, please book and pay at the bar. Notice is necessary for all special dietary requirements at the time of booking.
- Booking Priority: Where numbers have to be limited, seating allotment will follow order of booking. Details of functions are displayed on the Notice Board and appear in our regular Newsletters and on the website.
- Cancellation Policy: No charge will be made for cancellations received up to 5 days prior to a function or special event. Charges will be made for all cancellations made less than 5 days prior to the commencement of a function.
- Special Functions: The Club is available for special functions, weddings, dinners, parties and other events. Bookings may be made with our Events Manager. All budgets are catered for with prices available on request.
- Bookings: Bookings are essential for all functions NB: Functions are subject to change without notice. Please check the Club’s notice board, the Club’s Newsletter and flyers placed in the Clubhouse from time to time and on the website. All enquiries should be referred to the Events Manager.
- Paying for functions: Bookings and payment can be made at the bar, please ensure that you receive a receipt from the cash register for all pre-paid functions.
GRATUITIES A Staff Christmas Fund has been established that members may give gratuities for staff, it is distributed appropriately to all staff of the Golf Club annually. No gratuity or money may be given directly to any employee.
MEMBERSHIPAll enquiries should be directed to the Club Manager. Membership is for a year. The membership year starts in July. However it is possible to join part-way through a year and the subscription fee adjusted accordingly.
Membership entitles the members to use the facilities of the club such that their category of membership allows. The club's policy is that membership may not be suspended for a period where a member will not use the club's facilities. Payment options are available. Please see the MEMBERSHIP CHAPTER in this document.
MOBILE PHONES In the Clubhouse Mobiles in the clubhouse must be set to ‘Silent’. For phone calls please excuse yourself from the clubhouse.
VISITORS Visitors are welcome to visit the club both socially and for a golfing event. Visitors residing within 5 kilometres of the club may be signed in by a full member on 3 occasions only. Visitors attending a club approved function are not required to sign in.

COURSE MAINTENANCEFrom time to time maintenance on the course such as mowing, trimming or irrigating may be carried out during competitions.
DRESS CODE Members and visitors should at all times maintain a standard of dress commensurate with the dignity of the Club. On competition day’s members should wear acceptable golfing attire. Blue denim jeans during Club Competitions are unacceptable attire on the course. At all times members and non-members must dress appropriately. A neat casual dress code applies to all people using the Clubhouse & Course.
Unacceptable attire in the Clubhouse or on the Course: Shirts without a collar, Sleeveless/singlet tops, Workwear Beach apparel, Gym clothing, Active Wear, Shoes with heavy treads or thongs, damaged or dirty clothing.
GOLF ETIQUETTEMembers are reminded of their responsibilities as outlined in Section 1 of The Rules of Golf. Copies of the Rules are available from the Secretary Manager. If you wish to play through a slow group, please be courteous when making the request.
GOLFING VISITORS - OTHER REGISTERED GOLF CLUB MEMBERSPlaying members of other registered golf clubs (with current Australian handicap) are welcome to play in competitions for payment of normal green fees plus the nominated competition fee. Visitors are not eligible to win Club Trophies or Medals or to compete in the Club Championships.
GOLFING VISITORS -VIRTUAL CLUBS Players who hold a membership to Virtual golf clubs, Golf websites or to clubs that offer distance memberships in order to obtain a golflink number are not permitted to enter club competitions. Examples of non-complying clubs are: Qantas Golf Club, Howlong GC, Tully Park GC, The Ridge GC, Belowthepin and Futuregolf. Players should check their eligibility before entering our competitions to avoid disappointment. The Captain may make a discretionary call for special events.
GOLFING VISITORS - LOCAL GOLF CLUBS - REDUCED GREEN FEES Moss Vale Golf Club, Highlands Golf Club, Gibraltar Country Club and Mount Broughton Members are welcome to play at Bowral Golf Club. A reduced green fee is payable plus the nominated competition fee will apply. These local Club members are not eligible to win Club Trophies or Medals, or to compete in the Club Championships.
As a member of Bowral Golf Club arrangements have been made with these local golf clubs to play on their Course at a reduced rate.
HANDICAPSThe Club will maintain Australian handicaps for Members (where Bowral Golf Club has been nominated as the Members Home Club if the Member is a member of more than one club) and current Australian handicaps for all Members are available on the Club House computers.
All competitions will be played on Australian handicap and the Monthly Medal will be played in three grades. Monthly Medal events: Div. A – Handicap 0-15; Div. B – Handicap 16-25; Div. C – Handicap 26 -36. Information about handicaps to be used in various competitions is available on the Club House computers. A full description of the Australian handicapping system appears in the Australian Golfers Handbook or at:-

MEMBER’S GUESTSOn any competition day, playing members may invite visitors at the payment of the member guest green fee plus competition fee. This privilege does not extend to six-day playing members on Saturday competition days. Six-day members may play on Saturdays by paying the full green fee plus competition fee but are not eligible to win Trophy or medal events.
Members’ guests are not eligible to win Trophy or medal events. A Member may invite the same guest no more than 3 times in any one year.
Member’s guests may only play socially or a maximum of three occasions before he or she will be invited to become a member of the Club.
Social members and golfing members are not allowed to be another member’s guest and must pay the full visitor green fee plus applicable competition fees.
Members may invite a maximum of three guests to play socially paying a green fee. The same guest may only play socially a maximum of three occasions before he or she will be invited to become a member of the Club.
There are separate Eagle’s Nest competitions on Saturdays and Wednesdays, which are open to Members Only.

MOTORISED CARTS, BUGGIES OR MOTOR BIKESMembers and Visitors are requested to comply with The following rules when using carts on the Course. All cart users are liable for any damage caused.
- Alcohol is not to be consumed whilst in control of a motorised cart.
- Carts must not be driven within ten (10) metres of a green or between bunkers and the green, nor driven onto any teeing areas.
- Carts must not be parked in front of greens.
- Carts must be driven carefully, avoiding slopes on which the cart could capsize.
- Avoid damp or worn areas.
- Follow all directional signs and park carts in the designated areas at the side of fairways.
- Do not transport more than two people in a cart.
- Wherever possible, carts are to be driven in the rough or off closely mown portions.
- When using carts, consideration must be given to other players.
- A Drivers Licence or Proof of Age ID Card will need to be sighted. Minimum age of all drivers MUST be 18 years old. This is an insurance requirement.
PRACTICE The Club has a practice putting green adjacent to the clubhouse terrace. There is a practice area and chipping green between the 1st Tee & the 18th green. Members may also hire range balls from the pro shop. Members may also play practice strokes to an adjacent fairway in the direction of play from any area of rough on the Course PROVIDED that players on the Course are not inconvenienced. Practice from/on fairways is not permitted. Sand Buckets must be carried at all times when practicing and divots repaired. When using the practice area between the first and eighteenth fairways on competition days, practice balls must be collected prior to competitors playing those holes. Members may play a practice round on the Course but no more than TWO BALLS are to be used.
Members are reminded that they must carry their membership cards as the course is patrolled by staff. When the course is closed no practice of any type is not permitted with the exception that the chipping area may be used.
The Pro Shop uses the first fairway for lessons and its availability for practice should be confirmed with the Pro Shop. Under no circumstances are greens other than the practice green to be used for practice. Members should note that any breaches of the above will be referred to the committee and may result in playing rights being suspended. The protection of the Course is paramount.
SAFETY ON THE COURSEGreens staff always have “RIGHT OF WAY”
All players are reminded that if the flagstick has been removed from the hole on a green, then that hole is out of play. (This is a rule of golf)
Likewise, if members of the green staff are working on the fairways or greens and are in danger of being hit by golf balls, players are required to wait until the green staff indicate that it is safe to continue play.
This directive applies to both competition and social play.
SLOW PLAY - EXPECTED CONDUCT(Contact the pro-shop) Bowral Golf Club encourages “Ready Golf” however, safety of playing members is paramount. Members must be diligent in avoiding slow play and the low marker in your group is responsible for maintaining an acceptable pace of play. Your group must keep up with the group ahead. If your group is more than one hole behind the group ahead, allow the group behind to play through. Players searching for a “lost” ball should signal the group behind them to play through, as soon as possible. In Par and Stableford events players must pick up when unable to score at least a half or a point.
Members are reminded of the correct procedure addressing issues by other players as visitors conduct on the course that is not in accordance with expectations or policy. In both instances please contact the pro-shop who will attend to the matter rather than instruct appropriate behavior directly. The pro-shop has been trained in the correct approach to these matters.
WEATHER - LIGHTNING RISK WARNINGAt any time when there is storm activity nearby there is a significant risk of being struck by lightning. Due to the unpredictability of lightning strikes it is not possible to determine when players are at risk. The Club will not be liable for death or injury by lightning by attempting to forecast it. Players should seek shelter inside an enclosed building without delay if there is a risk. As a general advice places and things to avoid include:-
· small structures or sheds
· open fields
· in close proximity to the tallest localised structure such as surveillance tower, tree, light pole, antenna)
· umbrellas
· swimming pools, lakes, dams or water generally
Persons should also refrain from holding or contacting metal objects or using devices connected to electrical or phone lines.
Likewise, storms can exacerbate the possibility of falling objects such as tree limbs. Bowral Golf Club has adopted a policy common to many golf clubs in that it is the responsibility of each player to check weather forecasts before playing at Bowral Golf Club.

The Club maintains a website www.bowralgolfclub.com.au which provides facilities to book games, communicate with the membership, and to provide information to intending members and guests.
MEMBERSHIP AND PLAYING RIGHTSMembers should remember that on non-competition days they have no playing right of way over social players.
Handicaps are maintained for FULL PLAYING MEMBERS, LIFESTYLE, COUNTRY MEMBERS, JUNIOR/STUDENT MEMBERS & SUB- JUNIOR MEMBERS.
Handicaps are not maintained for non-golfing members such as House or Social members.
FULL PLAYING MEMBERSAll Full Playing Members have the right to play on the Course on any day of the week. The Men’s competitions are normally played on Saturdays and Wednesdays. A Ladies competition for Full Playing Members is held in conjunction with the Saturday Members competition. The Women’s competitions are normally played on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Medley competitions are usually played on Sundays or public holidays. Please refer to the golfing section of this program. Members in competition have the right of the Course.
LIFESTYLE MEMBERSLifestyle Memberships “23 to 50 years of age” This category carries 7-day playing access, all daily competitions including monthly medal rounds and the Lifestyle Championship, but are not eligible to win Club Trophies, compete in the Club Championships or interclub teams. There are also no voting rights in this category. Members in this category reaching 51 years of age may remain in this category indefinitely under the same playing rights. Should a member (over 51) move from this category then they can not re-join it. Members in this category may at any time move to the full playing category with a gradual increase in fees over a 3 year period (1/3 of the difference to be added each year to bring fees inline).
COUNTRY MEMBERSHave the same playing rights and privileges as Full Members but are not eligible to win Club Trophies or to compete in the Club Championships.
JUNIOR / STUDENT MEMBERSHIPJunior Playing members are persons who have attained the age of 18 years and are under the age of 23 years who are elected as Junior Playing members of the Club.
SUB-JUNIOR MEMBERSHIPSub-Junior Playing members are persons under the age of 18 who are elected as Sub- Junior Playing members of the Club.
HOUSE MEMBERSHouse Members shall be persons who have attained the age of 18 years and are elected as House members of the Club or transferred by the Board from another category of Ordinary membership to House membership of the Club.
No person who is not already a member of the Club shall be eligible to be elected to House membership of the Club and the only members who can be transferred to House membership of the Club shall be persons who, having been Full Playing members, Six Day Playing Members or Visiting members for at least twelve (12) months, have applied for and have been transferred by the Board to House membership of the Club.
A House member is entitled to the social privileges of the Club and, at such times and upon such conditions and restrictions as the Board from time to time determines may play croquet, bridge or any other social game available. No playing rights are attached to this category. House Members shall be entitled to attend and vote at general meetings of the Club, including Annual General Meetings, and shall be entitled to vote in the election of the Board.
SOCIAL MEMBERSSocial members shall be persons who have attained the age of eighteen (18) years and are elected to Social membership of the Club or are transferred by the Board from another category of Ordinary membership to Social membership of the Club. A Social member is entitled to the social privileges of the Club and, at such times and upon such conditions and restrictions as the Board from time to time determines may play croquet, bridge or any other social game available in the Club, but shall not be entitled to use the golf course to play golf except by paying the appropriate green fee for use of the golf course. (Subject to the limitations of the articles in which regular play may result in a request of the Member to upgrade to a playing member)
Social members shall not be entitled to attend or vote at general meetings of the Club, or at Annual General Meetings, or vote in the election of the Board.
RECIPROCAL CLUBSThe following clubs have reciprocal rights with Bowral Golf Club and Bowral Golf has reciprocal rights with them such that members of both Clubs enjoy benefits of the facilities of each Club.Contact the Secretary Manager for details.

STARTING TIMESStarting times are available on the ClubHouse computers or by contacting the Pro Shop. Members wishing to arrange playing times on the day of the competition may contact the Pro Shop. Members may play prior to competition starting times provided the Pro Shop is consulted regarding such bookings. The Pro Shop is responsible for all tee times. For match play events, please book a tee time as normal.
It is courteous for Members cancelling from a booked time to notify the other players of the group.
PUBLIC HOLIDAYSThe Clubhouse is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday. The Clubhouse is also closed until 12 noon on Anzac Day and no competition, social play or practice is to take place prior to that time. From time to time the Secretary Manager or Board may close the Clubhouse on other days as deemed necessary.
MEMBER INSURANCELimited insurance cover for loss of golfing equipment is provided for Playing Members under the Club’s insurance policy. An excess amount applies to any claim payable by the member. Details may be obtained from the Secretary Manager.

LADIES BRIDGEThe regular ladies’ bridge day at the Clubhouse is the first Tuesday in each month – February to December (unless otherwise advised), commencing at 10.30am.
