Bowral Goulburn Shield

Bowral Captain, Jan Tuite with Goulburn Captain, Margaret Webb

19th March
Bowral hosted the first round of the Bowral Goulburn Shield. The weather was lovely and although the course was a little heavy after the recent rain the course was in great condition.

There were 24 players, 12 from each club. The standard play was excellent and while Bowral put up a strong side, we were defeated 6 to 3.

Some highlights included Alison from Goulburn’s cart breaking down on the third hole which we believe was a tactic to tire out Sophie, who had to sprint back to the club house. We hear she was happier with her ability to sprint than her golfing prowess.

A lovely lunch was provided by the team at the bar and we all enjoyed a well deserved drink (or two!). We are looking forward to reclaiming the Shield later this year.
