The secret to good golf is to hit the ball hard, straight and not too often!

PENNANTS NEWS

Chris Levy, Helen Egan, Jane Clifford. Emma Perham and Sharon Rowe

Friday 22nd the team travelled down to Canberra again, this time to RMC to play Gungahlin Lakes. Canberra mornings can be cold and this one definitely was. It did however warm up nicely and the team was able to shed their jumpers fairly early in the game. The competition was pretty strong from Gungahlin and although all the Bowral team played well Gungahlin won the day 4 to 1. The team did have an enjoyable day with good company and the experience of playing at RMC.

Congratulations to all the players. It is a big call to have to drive to Canberra early in the morning, play golf and then drive home each week. The next game is Thursday the 11th April @ Royal Canberra.

WINNERS ARE GRINNERS!

WHATS COMING UP IN OUR GOLFING WORLD

26th March Road trip to Wollongong. We now have 15 players heading down to the Gong this Tuesday. Ellen Neale has all the arrangements made and has organised our own comp for the day. For those members choosing to play @ Bowral we have our first 9 and 18 hole comps being played together. Please remember this format may take a little while to get right but I can only ask that everyone is patient while we work through any issues.

28th March 2Ball Ambrose Easter Egg Challenge. Lets have some fun before Easter. This is a Shot gun start @ 9am so we can all come in around the same time to enjoy a lunch together. We will also be having a small Presentation for the 2 x Club Medal Rounds we have played so far this year. If you haven’t put your name down yet PLEASE do so. And yes there will be Easter Eggs!

NOW THIS COULD BE A CHALLENGE

4th April Another Medal Round and also the McLeish Cup Round 1. This is a stroke round. All ToC’s are now on the new website if you would like to read them.

9th April Greens Renovations (new date) We have arranged for a comp at Mt Broughton. A sign up form is now in the Locker Room. There is now a Gold Course at Mt Broughton which I am told is a shorter course and apparently takes quite a few of the hazards out of play. This is a great opportunity to play at a course close to home. Lunch and presentations are likely to be held at the Sutton Forest Inn.

11th April We did have our Invitation Day scheduled for this day but due to the Greens Renovations being rescheduled to the 8th & 9th April we have had to postpone our Invitation Day. Once the Match Committee has decided on a new date we will let you all know. Instead we are playing a Stableford round with a difference. All players can only take 3 clubs out with them. No putters are required. Once you chip or hit or whatever you do to get your ball on the green it is considered holed. If by chance, or great golfing skills you get a Gobbler you need to circle the hole #. Big rewards will come your way. Just a fun game to avoid trying to putt on sandy greens!
